Horizon Science Academy Dayton Downtown has made the decision to CLOSE school on Monday, April 8, 2024 for students and staff, due to the anticipated impact of the eclipse on our community.
While we hope your family takes advantage of the opportunity to (safely!) view this rare solar event, the timing of the eclipse at 3:00 p.m. and the expected high levels of traffic in the area led to the decision to close for the day.
Our school calendar already had school closed on April 10, 2024 for a Teacher Professional Development day. Due to the closing on April 8 for the solar eclipse - Horizon Science Academy Dayton Downtown will now be closed on April 8, 9 and 10 for students.
